Our Autism Special Needs (ASN Network) Social & Adventure Group was created (Currently serving the 518 Capital Region Areas of New York State) to provide children, adults, and families of all abilities, with added love and support for special needs families. We want to provide safe, supported, and exciting experiences in our community. While certainly mainstreamed towards special needs families this group it is open to all- *We only ask that all members who join in our Social & Adventure Group are respectful and kind to all of those within the group and understand this is a judgement free and inclusive zone. This is meant for families to explore indoor and outdoor places and also be willing to understand that there are others in our space that may have challenges and or do things differently. While some may not understand a challenge or behavior that could be displayed we ask you are not judgemental, keep things friendly and welcoming and teach your children it is okay to be a little different and grow at our own places and navigate within our own limitations without fears of others not understanding.
We are happy to help those who may join in on an adventure learn about what could be seen or noted on that event or future events for the sake of better explaining to your own family and growing more acceptance for others. After all there are many variables out there and quite often when we do not know or understand the why’s behind things it can lead to curiosity which can sometimes come off as judging and could harm someone even if its not meant in that way. Things may appear different and that is okay as long as you are accepting of all kids & adults being able to grow, explore and have fun in a welcoming environment.
From local outings to inclusive events, we believe everyone deserves the chance to explore, connect, and make memories — without barriers.
Too often, special needs families feel isolated or hesitant to join in on adventures. I wanted to change that. Here, you’ll find community, encouragement, and the gentle nudge to step out and see the world — knowing you have a supportive tribe standing beside you.

Whether it’s a local outing, a new experience, or simply being surrounded by others who get it, this is your space to belong, to breathe, and to make memories together.
I started this group to bring together parents & caregivers to give them support, and the bravery to adventure out, experience and sightsee and watch their loved ones experience new things rather then the seclusion and avoidance most special needs families, caretakers and individuals can most often feel.
Having a tribe stand by them~ being their village they needed that they may not have had.
